GPSed Beta – Free GPS Tracking Application
SHAPE just released the beat of GPSed which is a spinoff application that allows you to save tracklogs that you can later map out on Google Earth. Currently the leader for tracklogs is MobileTracker but that costs $24 while GPSed is free.
You need to get a login by going to GPSed.com from your PC. You can then download the application for your BlackBerry from wap.gpsed.com. It worked like a charm on my BB 8310 and 8800 and is supposed to work with a GPS puck but I cannot confirm or deny.
The application stores the track data in a GPSed proprietary format that you can then upload to their servers from the application and convert to any other format. The online interface for GPSed is awesome and builds upon Google Maps. You can upload other track data to the server and you can view the current tracks you have.

They are touting a GeoTagging photo application called Take’n’Pin but I was misled to believe it was a BlackBerry application. In reality it is a PC application that you can use to add GPS coordinates to a picture. I am not sure why they could not just auto add this information from the BlackBerry camera but I guess you can’t have your cake and eat it too. For now GeoTagging on your BlackBerry is the domain of BBplaces and MobileTracker
