It is not just any device that gets blown up for the whole world to see in Times Square. I was strolling down the block this Christmas Eve and was astonished to see such a large ad for BlackBerry devices. Just thought you would enjoy seeing a BlackBerry 8300 blown up and plastered on a NYC skyscraper. (Sorry for the bad quality these pics were taken with my 8310
)

Your “bad quality pics” look a lot better than the ones I take with my 8300. My 8300 takes good pics in daylight, but nowhere near as these ones at night. Or maybe Times Square is a lot brighter than I suppose.
But look at those excessive whites. That really bugs me in the Curve’s camera.

Times Square is lit up like a carnival but the washed out color is just a shame on the BB cameras. I only find the camera useful for portraits for caller ID and maybe for insurance claims… I love the camera on my friends sony ericsson with real flash! not just some dim LED light

Really? I like the LED flash on my Curve. The pics aren’t that good because they get too “noisy” in the dark, but the LED light is usually enough to reveal plenty of detail. Check out this pic I took in a 100% dark room: http://tinyurl.com/3cr2op
.
Which reminds me: maybe you could upload those Times Square pics in full resolution at Flickr or somewhere else. I would like to check on the details, noise etc.
