Cradlepoint PHS300 Battery Powered EVDO Router

PHS300withsprint8830Cradlepoint has released a new version of their wireless EVDO router that now sports a battery for wireless freedom. They have improved upon the router we mentioned previously by adding a battery!

The new Cradlepoint PHS300 takes everything in the CTR350 and adds a built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery to allow a kind of wireless freedom never before available – and it sells for just $179.99 ($159.99 if purchased with Sprint or Verizon EVDO Card with 2 year service). EvdoInfo.com has checked the size and the battery adds another 25% to the size of the original CTR350.

The battery provides about 2 hours of wireless freedom and works with quite a few devices including USB cards and ExpressCards. It even works with the Sprint BlackBerry 8830! Personally I agree with EVDOInfo when they say this router will be a boon for many mobile warriors. Many companies lock down their laptops so you cannot install the connection software for EVDO devices. By using this router you can just use the EVDO connection as if it were WIFI and sidestep the whole issue. They even have a car charger which would allow you to make your car a wireless hotspot. Sadly there is no ethernet jack to connect to the device without WIFI.

Check out the full review at EVDOinfo.com. You can preorder the Cradlepoint PHS300 for $179.99 at the 3gstore which is affiliated with EVDOinfo.com. The router is set to ship on the 20th of December which should get to you in time for Christmas.
