Josep lo ha lasciato appena sapere circa una nuova applicazione libera vicino Neosistec quel usi GPS aiutarli a trovare il vostro automobile. L'unico avvertimento è che richiede il GPS sul vostro Blackberry. Ha funzionato grande sul mio Blackberry 8310.

Il software è un'idea grande e mi ricorda di un'applicazione di GPS del cercatore del caffè che ha usato galleggiare intorno. Ho avuto sempre edizioni che trovo il mio automobile quando vado all'evento di sport, concerti e parchi ed io di divertimento trova che CarFinder è una soluzione perfetta invece di ricordarsi di che avete parcheggiato a DisneyLand nell'arancio Goofy del Livello 2.

Il senso che funziona è che iniziate in su l'applicazione quando uscite del vostro automobile e scattate il tasto di posizione di GPS dell'insieme sullo schermo principale.

Allora designerà la posizione come bersaglio che corrente siete dentro e la memorizzerà. Allora andate circa il vostro commercio e quando desiderate trovare ancora il vostro automobile aprite l'applicazione.

Allora avete tre opzioni per trovare il vostro automobile. La prima opzione è affinchè l'applicazione gli mostri una bussola ad aiuto diretto voi alla posizione di GPS del vostro automobile. La seconda opzione permette che apriate la posizione nei programmi del Blackberry. L'ultima opzione permette che trasmettiate la posizione ad un amico. Poiché non ho amici non ho avuto una probabilità provare l'ultimo caratterizzo .

Devo chiedere scusa per non avere screenshots dell'applicazione nell'azione ma non convinco la ricezione di GPS all'interno del mio appartamento ad ottenere gli screenshots reali e non stavo circa per levarmi in piedi fuori nel freddo con il mio laptop. Realmente desidero qualcuno uscirebbe con un'applicazione che si siede sul vostro Blackberry e che permette che prendiate gli screenshots senza un pc.

Ho avuto soltanto alcuni avvertimenti con l'applicazione. In primo luogo di tutto l'AT&T utenti devono realizzare poco un lavoro intorno per ottenere i programmi del Blackberry sui loro dispositivi poiché AT&T ostruisce l'icona di applicazione per difetto. Ciò non è difetto del Neosistec ma può causare le edizioni per alcuno. In secondo luogo di tutti desidero che ci era un senso aprire il programma nei programmi di Google ma quella potrebbe essere una limitazione del Blackberry. Third, it took quite awhile for the application to catch the GPS coordinates from the BlackBerry. Sometimes I had to wait for 3–4 minutes until I got the fix even though BBmaps would catch in less that 1 minute. Last of all I have always been a little annoyed when developers put large static banners on the top of each page. As you can see in the screenshot of the homepage the banner takes up half the screen.

Other than that I have only good things to say about Neosistec’s CarFinder. Neosistec consistently comes up with great software but I usually have to rely on our friend Josep to translate them to English. Sadly there is no product page but there is really no need for one.

Pros:

  • It just works
  • Integration with BlackBerry maps
  • Send location to friend is a cool feature

Cons:

  • Slow GPS location pickup
  • Bad English translation in the application (Just read the EULA)
  • Large banner on top of application

Conclusion: I really wish RIM would release an API that allows other applications to triangulate your location using cellphone towers without GPS. Since Google did this in Google Maps I have fallen in love. It allows me to have a pretty accurate location in less than a second so that I don’t have to wait for the GPS to fix on the location. This would be a great way to bring location based services to BlackBerrys without GPS. Hopefully Neosistec can find a way to integrate this in the future. Otherwise I highly recommend this application for anybody with a GPS BlackBerry and a car. Maybe in the next revision they can find a way to help my wife find her keys…
