Josep acaba de dejarme saber sobre un nuevo uso libre cerca Neosistec ese aplicaciones GPS de ayudarle a encontrar su coche. La única advertencia es que requiere el GPS en su Blackberry. Trabajó grande en mi Blackberry 8310.

El software es una gran idea y me recuerda un uso del GPS del buscador del café que flotaba alrededor. He tenido siempre ediciones que encontraba mi coche cuando voy al acontecimiento que se divierte, conciertos, y los parques de atracciones y yo encuentra que CarFinder es una solución perfecta en vez de recordar que usted parqueó en DisneyLand en naranja Goofy del nivel 2.

La manera que trabaja es que usted comienza para arriba el uso cuando usted sale de su coche y chasca el botón de la localización del GPS del sistema en la pantalla principal.

Después apuntará la localización actual que usted está adentro y la almacenará. Usted entonces va sobre su negocio y cuando usted desea encontrar su coche otra vez usted abre el uso.

Usted entonces tiene tres opciones para encontrar su coche. La primera opción está para que el uso le demuestre un compás a la ayuda directa usted a la localización del GPS de su coche. La segunda opción permite que usted abra la localización en mapas del Blackberry. La opción pasada permite que usted envíe la localización a un amigo. Puesto que no tengo ningún amigo no tenía una ocasión de probar el pasado ofrezco .

Tengo que disculparme por no tener screenshots del uso en la acción pero no consigo a recepción del GPS dentro de mi apartamento conseguir screenshots reales y no estaba a punto de estar parado hacia fuera en el frío con mi computadora portátil. Realmente deseo alguien saldría con un uso que se sienta en su Blackberry y permite que usted tome screenshots sin una PC.

Tenía solamente algunas advertencias con el uso. Primero de todo el AT&T los usuarios tienen que realizar poco un trabajo alrededor para conseguir mapas del Blackberry en sus dispositivos puesto que AT&T bloquea el icono del uso por defecto. Ésta no es avería de Neosistec sino puede causar las ediciones para alguno. En segundo lugar de todos deseo que había una manera de abrir el mapa en los mapas de Google pero ésa pudo ser una limitación del Blackberry. Third, it took quite awhile for the application to catch the GPS coordinates from the BlackBerry. Sometimes I had to wait for 3–4 minutes until I got the fix even though BBmaps would catch in less that 1 minute. Last of all I have always been a little annoyed when developers put large static banners on the top of each page. As you can see in the screenshot of the homepage the banner takes up half the screen.

Other than that I have only good things to say about Neosistec’s CarFinder. Neosistec consistently comes up with great software but I usually have to rely on our friend Josep to translate them to English. Sadly there is no product page but there is really no need for one.

Pros:

  • It just works
  • Integration with BlackBerry maps
  • Send location to friend is a cool feature

Cons:

  • Slow GPS location pickup
  • Bad English translation in the application (Just read the EULA)
  • Large banner on top of application

Conclusion: I really wish RIM would release an API that allows other applications to triangulate your location using cellphone towers without GPS. Since Google did this in Google Maps I have fallen in love. It allows me to have a pretty accurate location in less than a second so that I don’t have to wait for the GPS to fix on the location. This would be a great way to bring location based services to BlackBerrys without GPS. Hopefully Neosistec can find a way to integrate this in the future. Otherwise I highly recommend this application for anybody with a GPS BlackBerry and a car. Maybe in the next revision they can find a way to help my wife find her keys…
