Off Topic: What Is The Story With Marshmallow Shooters?

Marshmallow_shootergunOkay I have been dying to ask somebody what the story is with all of these Marshmallow shooters I have been seeing online. If you don’t know what I am talking about check out this product at ThinkGeek.com. I have even been seeing the Marshmallow shooters on respectable websites like Hammacher Schlemmer.

SO I ASK: Is it holiday tradition to shoot marshmallows 40 feet across the room? Did I miss the memo about the Halo marshmallow deathmatch? Is this some weird college frat house holiday party favor?

Marshmallowshooter

I am dying to know what the market is for a marshmallow shooter. I feel like everybody is at a party that I don’t know about . Being Jewish all I have are dreidels and Chanuka Menorahs. The closest I have found to an explanation is the website of Marshmallowville.com but even that seems to be a dead end.

Somebody please let me in on the secret . Should I be buying Marshmallow stock this holiday season?

I want one badly I just feel like we need a marshmallow shooting league. Maybe even a shooting range. I just cant figure out why you would want to shoot a marshmallow 40 feet? Is it an indoor sport? I cant imagine parents allowing their kids to shoot sticky marshmallows all over the house. On the other hand isn’t it a waste of marshmallows?
