When It Comes To Haircuts A Picture Is Worth (big number) Words
I was just catching up on my email and noticed that one of our readers, Amy, sent me a link to an interesting mobile website. The website is newhairstyles.mobi. The concept is actually quite innovative. When you are trying to describe to your stylist how you want your hair cut sometimes it is just easier to show them a picture. Personally I just take a picture after each haircut and show it to my barber the next time and say “I want that.”
For others it may be easier to head on over to newhairstyles.mobi and browse through their small (but hopefully growing) catalog of hair styles broken into simple categories. Just make sure not to choose the style on the left 
.
Personally I would really like to see somebody flesh out a website like this with hundreds of styles. It is a great idea for a mobile site.

Thanks for the review of our new site.
I thought I would follow up with what to expect in the coming months from newhairstyles.mobi.
We will soon be rolling out a multitude of hairstyles by local salons / stylists. This will start out locally in Jacksonville, Fl (our location), then regionally, and finally, national. This is no small undertaking and will take some time. Look for Jacksonville to be live first quarter of 2008.
Each local salon choosing to be featured will also have maps / directions and contact info listed
With this feature, you’ll be able to see what’s hot in LA vs what’s chic in New York and everywhere in between.
We are looking forward to expanding this service to a city near you! In the meantime, enjoy the generic styles we now feature ad let your salon / stylist know about our site!

I wanted to let you know there has been a major update to the site. Quite a few more hairstyles are now available, along with several new sections including celebrity hairstyles and the fun “Bad Hair Day” page.
There will also be additions and updates regularly.
