Aangezien ik mijn voer van BlackBerryForums RSS op 11/16 doorlas, merkte op ik post titled „Dit Programma u helpt Uw Verloren Blackberry“ vinden. Onnodig te zeggen, werd ik geïntrigeerde. Ik contacteerde de ontwikkelaar en hij verstrekte een exemplaar van het programma voor me aan test en overzicht.

Geïnstalleerdet FindItHet is slechts beschikbaar voor installatie via PC, die een vrij ongecompliceerd proces is. Zodra u het programma hebt geïnstalleerde, zult u opmerken dat er een generisch pictogram titled „FindIt“ op uw menu van BB is.
Het klikken op het schijnt niet om om het even wat te doen, zodat kunt u het pictogram zonder nadelige gevolgen verbergen.

Ik probeerde het door het plaatsen van mijn profiel van BB aan "uit", het te sluiten, en reserve het uit aan te brengen. Ik verzond me toen een bericht (onderwerp = „pleasefindmenow“) naar mijn Bes- rekening, en zeker genoeg, BB begonnen trillend en een oscillerende reeks tonen uit te zenden. Het volume van de tonen was hoorbaar, maar in geen geval luid. Het zou uw aandacht trekken als u zeer dicht bij het was en er andere achtergrondgeluiden waren. Anders, als u in een stille ruimte was, kon u het van het andere eind flauw horen.

Aangezien mijn BB in reserve was, moest ik de stodde knoop raken om het scherm aan te zetten. En, aangezien het scherm gesloten was, zag ik slechts mijn info van de „Eigenaar“, d.w.z. „Mijn Naam. Gelieve te roepen 1-XXX- indien gevonden.“. Herinner me zo, als uw BB aan slot automatisch wordt geplaatst, of u plaatst het manueel aan slot, zult u contactinformatie in Opties van uw BB de „moeten zetten> Montages van de eigenaar de“.
Pop-up FindIt Zodra ik het opende, zag ik mijn bericht (met inbegrip van mijn e-mailhandtekening), opduik op het scherm. De tonen en het trillende einde zodra u een e-mail opent. Jammer genoeg, kon ik dit app ertoe brengen om te werken toen ik „pleasefindmenow“ e-mail naar geen van mijn BIB- rekeningen verzond. Ik zou veronderstellen het boete als u geen Bes- rekening had zou werken, zodat weten of is dit het geval.

Ik testte ook app door niet BB te raken toen de tonen begonnen af te gaan. De trilling en de tonen beginnen gelijktijdig, maar bvibration duurt ongeveer 10 seconden, terwijl de tonen ongeveer nog eens 2 minuten en 20 seconden verdergaan. After that point, there is no more notification, except for the pop-up message you included in the body of the email. I would have hoped there would be a space of about 5 minutes and then the vibration and tones would start again, in case someone was not near it that first time. It looks like you’ll just have to keep sending it messages until you find it, or someone contacts you, or the battery dies.

For BB’s with integrated GPS, I’d like to see the ability to send an email from a pre-determined email account, which would set off the alerts, but also automatically send a reply email with the GPS coordinates of the device (or the last known coordinates). That would at least give you an idea of where you may have left it,

Pros:

  • Works with any profile setting, even when profile is set to “Off”.
  • Works when left in holster, standby mode, or locked.
  • Finally, a solution to finding a silenced BB.

Cons:

  • Alert tones are not very loud.
  • Vibration and tones do not repeat after initial trigger.
  • Does not appear to work with all email accounts on the BB.

Possible improvements:

  • Repeating alerts
  • Ability to set a particular ringtone to go off, instead of tones.
  • Integration with GPS to provide last known location.

Conclusion:

I did not have any problems with the download or installation of this application. The only “problem” I had was figuring out how to turn of the tones. The solution is open an email (although that did not always work for me, and I had to reset my BB, or wait the 2.5 minutes for it to stop).

All testing was done on a BlackBerry 8320 Curve (v4.2.2.180) and no glitches or delete and re-installs were required.

Overall, I like this application. I think there definitely could be some improvements, as mentioned above, but it certainly accomplishes it’s stated purpose (”This Program Helps you Find Your Lost Blackberry”).
