Free MediaCell Blackberry Video Converter 2.0

MediaCellVideoConverterTurns out the app is worthless and does not work. I guess I am back to using Seabyrds Video Converter. Thanks for the heads up Brian & Deb.

After months with no updates for Seabyrds Video Converter I am glad to see another contender offering a free BlackBerry video converter. Stefano has discovered a new converter called MediaCell BlackBerry video converter 2.0 which supports many formats. I have copied the description below for reference. I will be trying this out tomorrow and I will report back with what I find.

  1. Mediacell does not work. additional comments from blackberrycool can be found on this app.

  2. i used this application today, converted several youtube videos in less than 5 minutes…then transferred to bb (8310) FROM the actual application…so not sure why someone would say it doesn’t work …

  3. I downloaded, installed and tried this app. I do not understand why so many people say it does not work. I converted two 700 MB xvid movies into 66 MB MPG4 movies, copied them to my Curve and everything worked fine.

  4. I have used Seabyrds Video Converter and it works well. You just need to ignore the error messages on the VBR video encodings.

Also, I really like to use Videora iPod Video Converter. It has MUCH better video and audio quality. But the files are bigger also. Just make sure and encode the video as MPEG4 and not H.264. Then it will play fine on your Blackberry.

Here is a link for an article on this.
