Rumor: BlackBerry Unite! Coming To America?
Simon at BBcool has heard from the grapevine that we should be expecting to see BlackBerry Unite in the US sometime in early December. If you remember from before BlackBerry Unite is a quasi-BES solution for personal users to share documents, media, calendar, and contacts with up to 5 people. RIM has been teasing us for months with these features!
Personally I would take this rumor with a grain of salt since BlackBerry Unite was formally announced in Spain for Telefónica months ago and has yet to actually see the light of day other than a press release and some documentation. I really wish RIM would get the ball rolling on this one. I am curious to see how this will work with American carriers since many of them have adopted different personal and corporate BlackBerry data plans. Would the carriers be greedy and try to charge the corporate rate to use BlackBerry Unite? I sure hope not but I wouldn’t put anything past them! Tell us what you think…
