TVHarmony Allows You To Convert Tivo Recordings For Free
I just read a post by Shokat about a new free (for now) Beta application called TVHarmony that converts video from multiple sources to fit on your mobile device. While there is no explicit support for BlackBerry the software does convert to Dell Axim profile format 320×240 which will work on your BlackBerry video player. The TVHarmony converter will work with Tivo devices and quite a few video websites including YouTube, Google Video, and Archive.org.
The nice part is that instead of having to download the Tivo video to your PC and then convert using the Dump utility and then convert it to BlackBerry format you can now do all those things with one program in one step. The trick is to tell it to convert to the Dell Axim profile at 320×240 with a video bitrate of 350kbps and audio of 128kbps. TVHarmony will pull the file off your Tivo, convert it, and put it in a folder for you to copy to your Berry. If you plan on using it with Tivo you have to have a Tivo with Tivo-to-go capablity.
Since I don’t have a Tivo I would appreciate if somebody could confirm that this works.
