I have seen some serious IT Policies over the years but this one took the cake. Ho visto alcune gravi IT politiche nel corso degli anni, ma questa volta ha preso la torta. The Navy and Marines have locked down the BlackBerry’s under their control and turned them into 1 trick horses.  The new commandments say: La Marina Militare e marines hanno bloccato il BlackBerry è sotto il loro controllo e trasformato in 1 trucco horses. Il nuovo comandamenti dire:

  1. Thou shalt not PIN people Non tu PIN persone
  2. Thou shalt not use BlackBerry Messenger Tu Non utilizzare BlackBerry Messenger
  3. Thou shalt not use GPS Tu Non utilizzare le coordinate GPS
  4. Thou slalt NEVER install 3rd Party applications Tu slalt MAI installare applicazioni 3rd Party

I almost feel sorry for these guys. Mi sento quasi dispiace per questi ragazzi. Some of the restrictions are just over the top. Alcune delle restrizioni sono poco più in alto. When you have your BlackBerry connected to your computer the wireless connection gets killed. Quando hai il tuo BlackBerry collegato al computer la connessione senza fili viene ucciso. On top of that all your phonecalls go immediately to voicemail and emails are held until you unplug. In cima a che tutti i vostri phonecalls andare immediatamente alla segreteria telefonica e le email sono detenuti fino a quando non si scollega. The irony of the whole deal is that they are only required to have 5 character passwords. L'ironia di tutto il fronte è che sono richiesti solo a 5 hanno carattere password.

This reminds me of an old saying I love about security. Questo mi ricorda un vecchio detto che amo di sicurezza. “The ultimate security method is to just write the information down on a piece of paper and burn it.
