Microsoft Releases Free Live Search Application For BlackBerry
First of all I have to remark on the precident of Microsoft specifically targeting BlackBerry users for an application. On top of that Microsoft has directly posted about BlackBerry software on a BlackBerry forum. They have announced Live Search on both Pinstack and BlackBerryforums.
Microsoft has released a new free application for BlackBerry devices. Personally I think the Beyond411 is a better choice for 411 searches but Live Search does have its good points. You can get the application at wls.live.com. This application has GPS support so the search functions are GPS assisted if you have a GPS BlackBerry. You can catch more information about this release on the Live Search for BlackBerry page at this link.

I installed msn live on my 8830. The GPS won’t connect, but the application shows a bunch of promise. Nice interface, cool ideas. The movie search worked well in Canada, but it thinks the nearest restaurant to me is in Port Huron (over 3 hours away).

Your GPS on your 8830 is probably locked by your carrier. I am not sure if the application is still being updated but it was interesting to see Microsoft come out with an APP for blackberry

No, GPS isn’t locked. I can run Blackberry Maps and Google Maps, both connect fine. Did you get your 8830 to connect to GPS?

It worked on an 8800 but I have not had a chance to try out an 8830 with Live search. Let me get back to you on that…

Great Ronen, I appreciate the help.
While using this program do turn by turn directions change as you travel?
