FAQ: Change BlackBerry Desktop Manager Settings From BES to BIS
September 25th, 2007 by Ronen Halevy
Now this is a problem I have been faced with a few times. It is not that simple to change an email address from a BES account to a BIS account especially in regards to the desktop manager installation. RIM has just posted a great tutorial in the Knowledgebase on exactly how to switch between the two. It involves deleting some service books and modifying your installation of BlackBerry Desktop Manager so this may not be for everybody.

Not bad for removing the BES service books, but it doesn’t explain what is left to enable the BIS service books. e.g., what’s next after I had disabled BES? Do I need to go to my BIS control panel and click on “send service books” to get the correect ones for the new service?
