Find Out If You Have Friends Nearby With SameCell
SameCell is a free BlackBerry application that notifies you if you have friends nearby. The application uses cell towers to get your location so you do not need to own a GPS BlackBerry or GPS Bluetooth puck for the service to work. SameCell emails you, at your request, when friends, family, colleagues or people with common interests are nearby who have the application installed. You can download the application from your BlackBerry OTA by going to this link: www.samecell.com/mobile
The application cannot give you the exact location of your friend so once your nearby you will have to figure that out on your own. This application gave me a few hours of fun at work but I have yet to find a valid use for it other than pure entertainment. Let me know how you use it! Thanks to MiBlackBerry for the tip.
