The main free eBook Reader for BlackBerry, MobiPocket, had issues with their servers for the last week or two. Users could not download the BlackBerry installer files OTA and many readers were asking me for old copies. I just wanted to report that I just checked the links and they are now back up. Just head over to m.mobipocket.com and click download MobiPocket to install.

I can still no longer access the mopipocket estore from my blackberry (8800). The menu option only gives an error. Mobipocket readers is still flawed.

Rahsaan your not alone in that. It has not been working for me either. I have to use the desktop program to get books on my device. Hopefully they will fix this soon!

I don’t like MobiPocket. It keeps running in background all the time, even when not in use. What’s the deal with that?

Why not give a try to Anyview ebook reader, which provides support of pdb, umd, txt and html on blackberry.

Yeah I know the fact that it runs all the time is annoying. I think it has to do with the fact that it is always waiting for a file connection with your desktop. That way you dont have to have Desktop manager installed to transfer books.
Gomobi do you know where i can find a copy of anyview. All I have found about it is in asian characters
