I had an issue with my BlackBerry 8800 -  it did not scroll right and left as well as it should have. I knew I had an issue with dirt in the trackball due to grease and such but I could never fix it. This is a problem inherent in the design of the trackball so I was really hoping for a solution that would be quick and simple. A recent BlackBerry KnowledgeBase article mentioned that I should push down on the trackball while rolling it in the troubled direction to get it to work. This actually did help clear up some of the dirt and dust that had accumulated. Just wanted to share some of the advice. If this does not work then you can always try the tricky and risky cleaning described in this article by the knowledgeable reddog187 on PinStack Forums.
