Sprint Raising Text Message Charges to $.20
BoyGenius has reported that Sprint is already sending out notifications to subscribers in this months bill about a raise in text message fees from $0.15 a text to $0.20. This comes less than a year after they just moved it from .10 to .15. The funny part is that even after all the contract terminations that Verizon, Cingular, and T-Mobile had Sprint thinks they can pull this one off without violating the contracts of current subscribers. I agree with BoyGenius that this will probably never work and will be considered as a breach of their contract and would allow you to cancel your contract without an early termination fee. I always love how carriers are all about following the contract when it is in their benefit but when they break it they just can’t own up. I guess this raise to $.20 is a sign that we will be seeing some price changes on text messages for the other US carriers. Once again this seems to play right into the hands of deal seeking customers who are just looking for a way to cancel their contract without any fees. Source BoyGenius
