Preview: PocketDay Version 5.1

pocketday511.jpgCross River Systems will hopefully be releasing PocketDay v5 later this week so here is a sneak peak at the release version. Before reading this you should read the review of PocketDay v4 which was awarded the Editors Choice Award. All of the features of PocketDay v4 are included in v5 with the addition of some UI changes and integration. I would give you guys a nice sneak preview of what the new and improved PocketDay looks like. I have still not heard back from the developer as to whether this will be a paid or free upgrade for existing PocketDay users but I will let you know when I find out. Cross River Systems have confirmed that this will be a free update for all existing PocketDay users.

Off the bat my favorite new addition to PocketDay 5.1 is that it now allows you to create calendar and tasks out of emails with a simple menu button. The other big change is that Cross River Systems has added a carousel menu that is similar to Yahoo! Go. This allows you to easily switch between the widgets in PocketDay by scrolling left and right with the trackball. There are many other new improvements such as when you go into configuration submenu’s you can use the back button to exit back to the configuration main menu. Check out the screenshots below to get a sneak peak at what PocketDay v5 brings to the table.
