Google Offers Extra Storage, For a Price
Google has answered users requests for more storage by offering larger storage plans for Gmail and Picasa for a price. The extra storage is to upgrade your free 2.8GB on Gmail or your 1GB on Picasa and can be shared between the two. The plans break down like this:
6 GB ($20.00 per year)
25 GB ($75.00 per year)
100 GB ($250.00 per year)
250 GB ($500.00 per year)
It seems like this has limited appeal to anybody other than power users or others who store large images at Picasa. If you consider the fact that currently you have 2.8GB + 1GB = 3.8GB free the 6GB upgrade is really only 2.2GB extra for 20$ a year. They really should have an option between the 6GB and 25GB plan. To learn more about the upgrade just go to this link or to read the announcement go here.
