Free Wikipedia For BlackBerry – By Jonathan Fisher

wikipediafront1.jpgI forgot to mention in the last post that Jonathan Fisher has also released a Wikipedia application for BlackBerry devices. Currently it is only a front-end for Wikipedia that allows you to easily begin searching Wikipedia from the BlackBerry homescreen. The OS requirements are OS 4.2.0 or greater which means only 8100, 8800, 8300, and upgraded 8700 devices will work. The software just opens up a search for the terms you select in your BlackBerry browser but is useful for users who need to look up Wikipedia on a regular basis. Personally I find that using Beyond411 is a much better choice for Wikipedia searches since that has search suggestions and allows you to search much more than just Wikipedia. Check out the OTA link here.
