hi, i’m trying to run my yahoo go 2.0 in my bb101 but still not working. i always frustrated to this application everytime i open my yahoo go. this yahoo go is important for me becoz i am a land surveyor. everything in there is important to me. plz. help.

Yeah I am not the biggest fan of either applications by Google and Yahoo. Personally I think that the first one that comes up with SEEMLESS contacts and calendar sync to the native RIM applications is going to win the gold! That way you could get free Psudo BES. I know I am a dreamer…

Yes, Go is slow, but I love the way it looks. I think that 3.0 may be a bit overpowered for my Curve, and that 2.0 ran a tad faster, and it was easier to find what I wanted.

I’m still not sure why I need Go or Gmail for email on my BB because the built in mail program really is, for me, much better. I guess it’s easier to clean up my mailboxes with the dedicated programs when I’m away from my computer at home, but that’s about it.

Have you tried using the CTRL+Click shortcut for pasting? That works when the paste option is not in the menu in many applications.

Do you find that the Yahoo Go 3 interface is unbelievably slow? It just sucked up all the juice on my BlackBerry without any of the elegance found in the Google applications…

According to Yahoo tech support, contact syncing is not yet supported in the beta of Go! 3.0. I wasn’t able to find it on my 8320.

I know some people had trouble with how long it took in 2.0, but I was able to sync over my EDGE connection, although it took a little while.

I’ve been using 3.0 for a while now, and my biggest grip is that even though it looks fancier and appears to be more modular, finding things, for me, takes more clicks.

The main reason I keep this beast of a program on my BB is I love the local news that’s formatted so nicely. Unfortunately, access to that info takes more clicks.

Has anyone figured out if there is a way to past in the maps. I could not find a way. I have been using google for a year and a half now and use the paste function regularly. Help would be much appreciated!!!

Just thought I would let you know that you can always paste on your BlackBerry without using the menu. just hit the numlock button and click in the trackball and it will paste.

I have a BB 8800– I was disappointed about this, too, until I discovered tonight that you actually can– only, the process isn’t exactly intuitive.

If you “Copy” an address from outside the Y!Go app– e.g., from a text message, an e-mail, or your BB address book– you can go into the Yahoo Maps application and in the location field (for either “Find location” or “Driving directions”), hit the menu button, select “Insert special character”, and in the new screen, instead of entering a special character, hit the menu button again and select “Paste”. Ta-da!

CHL it seems like you have a BES policy on your BlackBerry that limits applications from accessing the files on your BlackBerry. You would have to speak to your BES administrator to get the policy removed

I tried to upload pictures on 8100. The option to upload pictures is there but when I clicked the option, it popped a error message box:

“The application YahooGo has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy.”

As I do not understand what it means, I will be very grateful if somebody can decode this message for me.

Hmmm, checked my zip online and on the device, and it is correct. I tried to other zip codes in the settings in the version on my 8100, and it pulls the correct information, so I know it is working for certains ones…

As for the 8800 upload – what does the “share your photos” link do in your screen shots? Pre-2.0, mine said that, on 2.0, it changed to “Upload your photos” – my specific version is 2.0.38-23

Thanks Joseph I update the review to take what you said into account. I will look into the issue of the zip code since I also noticed that I was getting results from California but that was the original location in my profile. You might want to check on your yahoo account online and see if they have the correct address there for your profile

On my 8100, the option to upload is there…a bit slow, but played with it on my way from Boston to NY on the Amtrak (De)Acela and posted a picture from it.

My gripe – the “Today” feature – which I have been back and forth with Yahoo’s support about. When I enter my home zip code, in NJ, I get events for Arizona, California and even on in Spain…not exactly local events. This occurred in the beta, I reported it, back and forth…oh, new version will fix it…ummm, nope.

I asked about a test harness, some web service to pass my zip code into, and get no where with them…

Yes it is free, but they put the feature there…
