Well Magmic has done it again. Goed Magmic heeft het weer gedaan. They have ported one of my favorite boardgame classics to the BlackBerry. Ze hebben overgedragen een van mijn favoriete klassieke bordspel naar de BlackBerry. They have even taken it one step further and added some inspired gameplay modes. Ze hebben genomen, het zelfs een stap verder en voegde een aantal geïnspireerd gameplay modes. The controls are intuitive and the gameplay is addictive. De besturing is intuïtief en de gameplay is verslavend. My only complaint is that the level of difficulty could be increased. Mijn enige klacht is dat de moeilijkheidsgraad kan worden verhoogd. As a middling gamer I should not be able to defeat the whole campaign mode in 2 tries. Als middling gamer ik niet in staat zijn de hele campagne modus nederlaag in 2 probeert.

First of all let me provide some background into the game. Allereerst wil ik wat achtergrondinformatie te verschaffen in het spel. Stratego is a strategic board game where each opponent has a certain number of pieces each with different strengths and weaknesses. Stratego is een strategisch bordspel waarbij elke tegenstander heeft een bepaald aantal stuks elk met verschillende sterke en zwakke punten. The objective of the game is to find and capture the enemy's flag before they capture yours. Het doel van het spel is te vinden en te vangen vlag van de vijand voordat ze jou te vangen. Magmic has provided 3 different gameplay modes in their version of Stratego, Battle, Campaign, and Duel. Magmic heeft 3 verschillende gameplay modes in hun versie van Stratego, Battle, Campagne en Duel.

stratego5.jpg Battle is the classic version of Stratego that all of the board game fans would remember. Battle is de klassieke versie van Stratego dat alle fans van het bordspel zou herinneren. You can place your pieces anywhere on the board and move them about with the trackball. U kunt uw stukken overal op het bord en zet ze over met de trackball. All of the regular Stratego rules apply. Alle reguliere Stratego regels van toepassing. This more or less the classic rendition of the game. Deze min of meer de klassieke weergave van het spel. I found the gameplay to be addictive in this mode and a throwback to when me and my brothers used to play this game for hours. Ik vond de gameplay verslavend te worden in deze modus en een teruggrijpen op bij mij en mijn broers gebruikt om dit spel te spelen voor uren.

Campaign is a game mode inspired by the original Stratego where you play against 10 different historical generals such as Alexander I and Napoleon Bonaparte. Campagne is een game mode geïnspireerd door de originele Stratego waar je speelt tegen 10 verschillende historische generaals, zoals Alexander I en Napoleon Bonaparte. Each general has a different objective and a different defense/attack strategy. Elke algemeen heeft een andere doelstelling en een andere verdediging / aanval strategie. This provides for some new gameplay with my only complaint being that the campaigns are a tad easy. Dit zorgt voor een aantal nieuwe gameplay met mijn enige klacht is dat de campagnes zijn een beetje gemakkelijk.

In this mode the computer gives you 10 different pieces as you can see on the right and allows you to move them around in to create your own strategic offense/defense. In deze modus de computer geeft je 10 verschillende stukken zoals je kunt zien aan de rechterkant en stelt u in staat om ze te verplaatsen in op je eigen strategische aanval te creëren / verdediging. Once again you play against one of the 10 historical generals. Eens te meer je speelt tegen een van de 10 historische generaals. This allows for some quick playing action while your waiting for a meeting. Dit zorgt voor wat snelle actie te spelen terwijl je wacht op een vergadering.
Pros: Pros:

  • Great controls and the game load time is much shorter then other Magmic titles Grote controles en het spel laadtijd veel korter is dan de andere Magmic titels
  • Takes the fun classic gaming of Stratego and adds a few twists Neemt het plezier klassieke gaming van Stratego en voegt een paar wendingen

Cons: Minpunten

  • Game difficulty in Campaign mode is not quite up to par Game moeite Campaign modus is niet helemaal up-to-par
  • No multiplayer (Yes a man can dream) Geen multiplayer (ja een mens kan dromen)

In summary this is a must have game for all BlackBerry users especially if you are a Stratego fan. Samengevat is dit een spel moet hebben voor alle BlackBerry-gebruikers vooral als je een Stratego fan. The game takes all of the gameplay from the classic Stratego and adds some fun new modes. Het spel neemt alle van de gameplay van de klassieke Stratego en voegt enkele leuke nieuwe modes. As I said before my main reason for docking this game to a 9/10 is because the campaign mode too easy for my liking. Zoals ik al eerder zei mijn belangrijkste reden voor het couperen van dit spel een 9 / 10 is, omdat de campagne-modus te gemakkelijk voor mijn smaak. Hopefully Magmic can correct this in a future release. Hopelijk Magmic kunnen corrigeren dit in een toekomstige versie. Another fine release by Magmic games.
